We will guide you through all the essential functions of the Bambi NEMT driver app, empowering you to provide safe and efficient transportation services. Let's get started!
Section 1: Getting Started - Download App and Interface Overview
Download latest version on your mobile device:
1.2 Log Into App
Step 1: Open the App: Launch the Bambi driver app on your device.
Step 2: Enter Credentials: Input your registered username/email and password.
Step 3: Tap "Login": Access your account by tapping the "Login" button.
1.3 Dashboard Tab
Review Dashboard Tab: The Dashboard will provide a summary of the current shift information including trip, passenger, and vehicle information.
1.4 Active Tab
Review Active Tab: This part of the app contains only the information needed for the current trip that the driver is expected to complete.
1.5 Schedule Tab
Review Schedule Tab:
Tomorrow’s trip schedule can be viewed on the “TOMORROW” tab.
Note: Will Call trips have an approximate pickup time.
The upcoming work schedule for the next seven days can be seen on the “SHIFTS” tab.
This includes start time, number of trips and assigned vehicles.
1.6 Settings Tab
Review Settings Tab:
Maps App: Select your preferred maps application for trip directions (ex: Apple, Google, Waze, etc.)
Quick Action Button: Dispatch Communications
Click on this button to call or text dispatch.
Section 2: Start Your Shift and Managing Trips
2.1 Start Shift
Tap "Start Shift" on Dashboard Tab:Allow Location Permission While Using App.
Note: Location permissions are required while using the Bambi Driver App to provide accurate trip time estimations, scheduling optimization and authenticate passenger dropoff and pickup confirmations as well as signatures.
2.2 Vehicle Confirmation & Assessment
Confirm Assigned Vehicle.
Vehicle Assessment
Complete Safety Check: Review vehicle safety checklist and confirm operation of items and any potential issues.
Fuel & Mileage: Record mileage in the odometer and fuel status as well as any other notes.
2.3 Review Trip Assignments
Trip Assignment Summary: App provides quick daily trip summary including pickup and dropoff times as well as address locations and passenger details.
Note: This may change throughout the day based on changes or adjustments made by Dispatch.
2.4 Start Shift Driver Signature Confirmation
Driver Signature Requirement: Signature confirms assessment and clocks in driver to start their shift.
Key Takeaway: Prepare for your shift by reviewing all the relevant information and understanding where to get any additional information throughout the day.
2.5 Driver Activated: Shift Started and Clock In Time Recorded
Driver is officially activated and will have the status “Active” under their name on the “Active” tab indicating they have started their shift after the completion of the preceding steps.
Note: The exact time and location of the clock in is recorded.
Key Takeaway: Make sure you allow for enough time to do the vehicle assessment before clocking in to start your shift on time.
Section 3: Transporting a Passenger
3.1 Pick Up Your Passenger
Start Trip: On the “Active” click “Start Trip”.
Note: Trip status will be changed to En Route.
Launch Map: Bambi will redirect to the default Directions App to your pickup location. Follow the on-screen directions to reach the passenger safely.
I’m at Pickup: Confirm you have arrived by hitting the “I’m at Pickup” button.
Note: Trip status will change to “I’m at Pickup”.
Confirm Passenger Identity and Load Passenger: Verify the passenger's identity upon arrival and safely load them into your vehicle.
Start Transporting Passenger: After safely loading passengers click “Start Transporting” and if required collect the passenger's signature for confirmation. If signature is not required press “Skip Signature”.
Note: Trip status is changed to Transporting.
Note: Passenger signature and geolocation can be required for billing and compliance purposes.
3.2 Navigating to the Dropoff Destination
Launch Map: Bambi will redirect to the default Directions App to your pickup location. Follow the on-screen directions to reach the passenger safely.
3.3 Drop Off Your Passenger: Complete the Trip
I’m at Dropoff: Click “I’m at Dropoff” to confirm that you have arrived at the dropoff location.
Note: Trip status is changed to “At Dropoff”.
Unload Passenger: Safely assist the passenger to exit the vehicle.
Tap "Finish Trip": This button ends the trip
Confirm Trip Completion: Driver signs signature to confirm trip completion. Some companies may not require driver signatures, check with your management for requirements.
3.3 Continuing your Shift
Next Scheduled Trip: The next scheduled trip will automatically display on the “Active” tab.
Note: If you do not have any more assigned trips for the day then you can finish your shift. See next step.
4. Ending your Shift
4.1 Finishing Shift
Finish Shift: If you do not have any other assigned trips for the day tap “Finish Shift” on the “Active” tab.
4.2 Vehicle Confirmation & Assessment
Confirm Assigned Vehicle.
Vehicle Assessment
Complete Safety Check: Review vehicle safety checklist and confirm operation of items and any potential issues.
Fuel & Mileage: Record mileage in the odometer and fuel status as well as any other notes on changes.
4.3 Review Completed Trips
Trip Assignment Summary: App provides quick daily trip summary including pickup and dropoff times as well as address locations and passenger details.
4.4 Finish Shift Driver Signature Confirmation
Driver Signature Requirement: Signature confirms assessment and clocks out the driver to end their shift.
Note: The exact time and location of the clock out is recorded.
Note: Driver will be marked “Not currently on shift” under their name in the “Activity” tab.
